Profile
Dr. Aimé M. Mbobi is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the Information and Communications Technology industry. Currently serving as the Head of the Solution and System Engineering Department (SSE) at Aviat Networks, Dr. Mbobi previously held the position of Head of the Learning Services Department at Huawei Canada for a decade. Alongside his corporate roles, he is a Professor within the Department of Information and Communication Engineering Technology at the School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science of Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology (Progres Campus), based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Additionally, he has served as a Professor at the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology at the Sheridan College Institute of TechnologY (Davis Campus), Ontario, Canada. Furthermore, Dr. Mbobi also taught at the second cycle of the Institut Supérieur des Techniques Appliquées in Kinshasa (DRC) and at the Ecole CentraleSupélec in France. He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Kinshasa's Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science . Dr. Mbobi's academic achievements are noteworthy, as he holds an Engineer's Degree in Telecommunications from École Nationale Supérieure Mines-Télécom Lille Douai and the University of Lille 1 in France. He also possesses a Specialized Master's Degree in Network Application Engineering from the prestigious Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris . His pursuit of knowledge led him to obtain a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in Computer Science Engineering from the eminent University of Paris 11-Saclay , with the distinction of Highest Honors, 'Suma Cum Laude.' Additionally, he conducted post-doctoral research and taught at the Department of Computer Science of the Ecole CentraleSupélec in France. With over thirty years of industry experience, Dr. Mbobi has held various senior roles, including Senior Director, Senior Manager, Senior Engineer, Senior Consultant, Senior Advisor, and Expert within international telecommunication authorities and technological entities. Pr. Mbobi has a diverse background in both engineering and education. With over twenty-three years of experience in Higher Education Institutions, he has demonstrated a passion for teaching and a wide range of expertise in various subjects. His teaching interests encompass Discrete Mathematics, Computer Science (Software Engineering), Artificial Intelligence (Computational Intelligence), Bioinformatics (Bioinformatics Algorithms), and Telecommunications (Channels and Protocols of Telecom Networks: 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G). This broad spectrum of subjects reflects his dedication to staying current with the latest advancements in these fields. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Mbobi actively engages in research activities. His primary research area revolves around heterogeneous system modeling, with a particular focus on embedded systems employing different Models of Computation. He is committed to developing novel mechanisms that facilitate interactions among components governed by diverse models of computation. These research endeavors extend to various types of systems, including personal systems like vehicles, phones, and pacemakers, as well as collective systems such as airplanes, telecommunication networks, submarines, satellite systems, missile guidance systems, and nuclear power plants.
